Even though we are a small company we feel that we should participate in the community. We noticed the financial situation that many are going through and would like to do something about; but we are humble enough to understand we can’t help everyone. However, we saw one cause we couldn’t ignore and that was MTA considering of dropping the student metro card program and we knew we had to say something. At 3rd&5 we decided to write a small petition to compel Governor Patterson to work harder to keep the MTA from cutting the free fares of students or even proposing it ever as an option in the future. So we urge you to sign this petition below to help save the kids of the future.

Dear Gov. Paterson:

We understand that in this time of financial crisis, that you are trying to close the gap between the budget. However we implore you to work harder on convincing the MTA from canceling the funds necessary for New York City children to ride the subways on their way to school everyday. Most students and their families depend on this assistance to enable them to expand their educational horizons for their most talented and brightest. In order for this to happen some kids need to go to schools far from their residence or even district to get that extra boost in educaton. They also get hidden benefit of seeing a different area of the city which enables them to interact with different kids.

Please help support us by urging the MTA to not cut the student free fare program.
